The Stygian Shore
by Mordread
As I swim down an ocean of anguish,
the Stygian shore comes into sight.
The voices tell me not to go,
because the time is not quite right.
They sing a song to change my mind
to tell me what I'd leave behind.
But all I hear is a requiem,
so further to the shore I swim.
The tide grows stronger,
the water colder.
The pull is stronger,
this game grows older.
Finally, finally, I arrive at shore,
but nothing is here, I expected more.
A horrible chill fills my limbs,
and works its way deep down inside.
"Welcome!", says a booming voice.
"You can't escape, though many have tried"
I'm afraid you'll never leave this place,
you're trapped for all eternity.
There is no hope!
There is no chance!
You're here forever.
